Appointments to Schedule

You’re pregnant! Now what?

Well, there are a few things that should happen after learning you’re expecting. And we’ve got that checklist right here…
In addition to taking a look at your daily life and modifying a few unsafe habits, if you don’t already have a doctor you’re comfortable with, it’s important to start looking for one now.
There are several appointments on the horizon that you will need to schedule.

First, let’s start off with what you should do right away.

There are a few things that you can’t do now that you are pregnant. Those things include:
Drinking alcohol
Eating certain foods
Smoking cigarettes and marijuana
Drinking too much caffeine
Taking certain medications.
(If you are on specific medications, please immediately consult with your doctor on how you should proceed for the next 9 months.)

And if you haven’t already, sign up for our week-by-week development emails! It’s fun to watch your baby grow and learn about their development over the next 40 weeks.
According to March of Dimes, most expectant mothers visit their doctor for a checkup every 4 weeks doing weeks 4 through 28 of pregnancy.
After reaching week 28, check ups occur every 2 weeks until week 36. Expectant moms then go every weeks for a checkup until their child arrives.
While 3D and 4D ultrasound are entirely optional and an added expense, if you are planning on scheduling one, most women schedule the ultrasound between 24 and 34 weeks.
Depending on which business you use to do the ultrasound, they may have limited appointments, so it’s best to schedule ASAP.
